Cinder's Faction vs League of Villains by SilverJenkins

The Kingdom of Vale, Nighttime
1 am

"Did we really have to come back here again, to this stupid, destroyed place roamed by Grimm? It's not like I just barely survived being swallowed by one of those goddamn abominations, so of course I'm taking part in this pointless mission to retrieve some "relic", whatever that's supposed to be anyway." A man with a bowler hat and a cigar in his mouth mumbled to himself. Roman Torchwick could've imagined lots of locations where he'd rather be at this point, due to not exactly having nice memories about the last time he was here.

"Can't help it, Roman. Cling together, swing together." The black-haired woman in the red dress next to him said, a glass mask covering parts of her face. Turning his head, Roman looked into the glowing right eye of Cinder Fall. He hated her so much. If it wasn't for the money, he would've never get himself into the deal she and this woman-monster-thing Salem offered him and his pink-and-brown eyed assistant Neopolitan, who stood right in front of him, her umbrella resting on her shoulder.

"And despite that, it was your own stupidity which led to you being nearly eaten by a Grimm, Torchwick. Got no one to blame other that your empty airhead." The guy with the gray, spiked up hair remarked, leaning against a wall. Mercury Black grinned at the sight of the glance Roman threw at him, and even more when he saw how the green-haired girl, Emerald Sustrai, had to chuckle at the comment.

"Listen up, you runt" Torchwick began his comeback. "If it weren't for some other people around, I'd take you and your attitude, and-"

"What would you do, Roman?" Cinder asked in a voice sounding both curious and menacing at the same time. "Nothing, obviously." The thief answered immediately. "So it's just us searching for this... relic thing? Are you sure that we happy few people will be enough to find it in time before we're being found by some good witches and Huntsmen ourselves?"

"You should really begin to have a little faith. Besides, I'm sure your old friend, that one information broker, would gladly help us out. Oh, and we've got the White Fang on the case, too." The Fall Maiden told him. Hearing this, Roman's mood dropped even further. "The White Fang. Seriously. Those filthy animals are here, too? It just keeps getting better and better."

"Exactly what I wanted to hear from you. See, you're already starting to think more optimistic again." Cinder teased. "But enough talk. Roman, take Neo and move towards that shady club. Maybe your friend knows more about the relic than we think. Emerald, you and Mercury search around the school, since the White Fang is already looking around the city."

"Wait a sec" Roman interrupted. "And what exactly are you doing while we're wandering around doing your dirty work?"

"I'm off on my own. Is that a problem?" Cinder asked, with a frustrated Torchwick only starting to walk away grumbling in response. Smiling, Cinder started to float. "I thought so. And watch out, everyone. There are still lots of Grimm roaming the city. We wouldn't want any of you getting eaten alive. I don't think it feels too good, right, Roman?" She asked while soaring away, leaving Mercury and Emerald laughing roaringly while Roman grit his teeth as he and Neo parted ways with the others.

Oh, how he hated her.

Climbing to the top of a tall building, a Beowolf, one of the weaker creatures of Grimm, tried to get a better view over the kingdom it was roaming. Having reached the roof, the monstrosity let out a long howl directed towards the moon, as it intended to strike fear into the hearts of the humans still trying to survive around here. Nothing would stop it, as it would devour them one by one. Looking across the area, it kept watch for its next victim. Until it heard something from behind.

Turning around, the beast looked straight towards a small, dark portal appearing before it on the roof. As it started growing larger, the Beowolf slowly came closer, curious as to what this thing in front of it was. Suddenly, a young man covered in purple scars stepped out of it, coldly glancing at the creature. The Beowolf found itself being excited all of a sudden. For some reason, its next meal manifested literally right under his nose. All it had to do was to open it's jaws and-

"You're in the way."

Bursting into blue colored flames, the Beowolf burned to ashes in seconds. Lowering his outstretched arm, Dabi watched as the rest of the League of Villains exited the portal.

"Wow, so this is Vale?" A young girl with suction needles connected to a pair of blood tanks strapped on her back asked excitingly. While Himiko Toga danced across the roof, the mask wearing Mr. Compress joined the fray, followed closely by the reptilian like member of the group, Spinner. The red-haired transgender man of the team, Magne, entered with her weapon wrapped in a cloth, before Twice jumped out of the warp gate to answer Toga's question.

"Of course it's Vale! Can't you see, it looks nothing like the place Giran described to us!" The contradicting villain shouted, annoyingly as always. "But we can't stay here for too long, our mission is clear! What do we have to retrieve again?"

"There have been talks about a machine capable of transferring the power of one being to another." The top of the portal suddenly spoke while forming yellow glowing eyes to further indicate that it was in fact Kurogiri talking to his fellow villains. "Due to All For One being imprisoned, we need another way to further create Noumus and come closer to our goal of becoming the new number one threat to the world. And if this piece of technology should really have the means necessary to transfer Quirks, we have to get our hands on it."

"That's right." A disturbing voice said inside the portal. Stepping out of the warp gate, a guy wearing a black coat made his appearance, several disembodied hands clasped onto his arms, head, neck and face. The leader of the group, Tomura Shigaraki, stepped to the edge of the roof, watching over the kingdom. "The machine is around here somewhere. You're going to split up and search for it. As soon as you found it, contact either Compress or Kurogiri to retrieve it."

"Wait" Magne intervened. "Didn't Giran say that there were some vile beasts roaming around here, not to mention crazily powerful people? I mean, that sounded pretty scary to me." Hearing this, Shigaraki snapped his fingers. Right on cue, Kurogiri enlargened his warp gate as several creatures walked through it. Hideous body features, visible brains and their inability to speak hinted at them being artifical humans, or Noumus for short. "So there are monsters around here? Well, who cares" Shigaraki calmly responded.

"We've got our own."

1:15 am

Lighting himself another cigar, Roman tried to calm his nerves. Yes, he was once again basically surrounded by Grimm, but so what? As far as he could see, there were no Griffons or Nevermores around ready to dive down and ingest him like a worm or whatever those birds ate. All he had to do was find this stupid relic real quick, grab his cash and get the hell out of here. Taking a deep puff, he looked at his assisstant. "Neo, do you think Xiong knows anything about this stuff?".

Raising an eyebrow as if she wanted to ask him if he was being serious, Neopolitan shook her head, proving that she and Torchwick shared the same opinion. "Thought so" Roman muttered. With an annoyed sigh, they continued walking into the general direction of the night club. At least his task was comparably non-dangerous. He just had to get to Xiong, where the risk of running into Huntsmen or Grimm was relatively low. The other ones could get beaten up, for all that he cared, as long as he and Neo were safe.

Passing a dark alley, the duo suddenly heard a whimper. Turning around in surprise, they saw a member of the White Fang lying on the ground, covered in blood and barely alive. Taking a step backwards in disgust, Roman suddenly questioned how safe they really were. "I think it's for the best if we just back away slowly and walk into another direction. What do you say?" The thief asked his female sidekick, who quickly nodded in approval. But just as they turned, they were met with another unpleasant sight.

A young girl with blood stains on her clothes stood just a few feet across from them, a bloodied knife in her hand and wearing a large scarf with multiple suction needles. Pulling down her scarf, Himiko Toga revealed her wide smile, unsettling Roman even further. "Hi, do you happen to know where this Quirk transfer machine is?" She asked politely. Quirk transfer machine, what the hell is that supposed to be, Roman thought to himself. "Young lady," He began, "I sadly have no idea what you're talking about. Therefor, preventing you from wasting your time, I'd say you'd rather ask one of these mask-wearing animal people, they surely know where to find whatever it is you're searching for."

Since there wasn't any reaction from Toga regarding his statement, Roman simply turned around and started walking away. "Farewell, scarf girl. I hope you're successful with whatever you're trying to do. Come, Neo." He said, waving his hand without looking back at the psycho chick. As Neo followed him though, they stopped moving shortly after as Toga was suddenly standing right in front of them.

Rapidly looking back and forth, both Torchwick and Neo were more than just a tad confused. "Wait, how did you-" Roman started before being interrupted by Himiko. "You know, you look kinda cute" She said, knife pointed at Torchwick. Not really knowing how to respond to that given the situation, the thief tried to talk his way out once again. "Well, thanks, I guess? But we really have to keep going, so if you don't mind-"

"You'd be way cuter if you were bruised and reeked of blood!"

"Wait, wha-"

Before Roman could properly react, Toga had already thrown one of her suction needle into his direction. Cursing under his breath, he jerked his head to the side, barely dodging the projectile, only to be distracted for a short moment used by Toga to immediately appear right in front of him. Gritting his teeth, Roman tried to fend her off with his cane, but Himiko prevented him from doing so by grabbing his right arm while simultaneously thrusting her knife towards his neck, her grin only growing wider.

Luckily for Torchwick, a quick thinking Neopolitan prevented the knife from connecting by ejecting the blade hidden in her umbrella, pushing the knife to the side in the process. As Toga missed her target, Neo followed up by jumping and kicking her against the side of her head and intended to follow up with a leg sweep, only for Toga to perform a backflip. Landing on her feet a short distance away from the criminals, Himiko rubbed her head while Neo let her blade retreat into her umbrella again with a smile forming on her face.

"Phew, that was closer than I usually prefer. Don't think she'll let us leave just like that, though." Roman said, keeping his eyes glued to Toga. "Neo, if you would?"

Nodding, Neo positioned herself in front of Roman while pointing her umbrella at Toga, who pulled at the tube connected to the suction needle she threw, letting it fly back into her hand. "You're looking cute, too." Toga happily exclaimed as she mustered her opponent. "But just like him, you're lacking something crucial."

Slightly bending over, Himiko Toga held both knife and suction needle at the ready while Neo prepared herself for the attack that was sure to come at any second.

"Let me help and cover you in blood!" Himiko yelled as she dashed forward.
